Sunday Trading

Yes that’s right. If you are looking for a Bakery that is open  Sunday’s (or Saturday for that matter) in Ipswich, Queensland (QLD).

Our trading hours are 7am to 1.30pm both Saturday and Sunday.

The only Sunday’s we are closed are Easter Sunday and the Sundays directly after Christmas Day and up to when school resumes in the new year. or if a Public holiday happens to fall on a Sunday.

Gluten Digested Saturday Bake

We normaly bake for pickup every 2nd Saturday morning, and orders close on Thursdays.

We do the range of  Breads, Bread Rolls, Fruit Buns, Cream (mock) Buns, .

The Fruit Buns are ordered as a pack of six, and Cream Buns as a pack of four.

Your choice of bread is not just limited to White Bread. Multi-Grain (pre softened grains), Wholemeal, Wholegrain, Fruit Loaf, and Sourdough may be ordered also.

As well as Loaves, Bread Rolls (Lunch, Hamburger, or Hotdog) may be ordered.

We are also do  Sausage Rolls, Chunky Beef (plain),  Apple Pies,  and Apricot Pies . We can do them in either the regular size or as a Family size Pie.

Also Apple Turnovers, Vanilla Slice, Carrot Cake and Madeira Cake.

All baked with a treatments of “Biohawks Bake-Aid and Relief”.

Batch sizes are limited.

Not only are these products “Gluten Digested”, other “Food Intolerance’s” are addressed as well. All the product has been treated with accordance to, and with Biohawk’s cooperation and instruction.

Like our other bread products, we use Australian Flour that has not been chemically bleached. With Gluten Digested Breads we employ a more traditional technique (similar to sourdough), which allows the dough to “develop” naturally without adding improver .  The Fruits and Grains have also been treated to address a whole scope of food allergen reactions.

Please note this treatment does not make the product “Gluten Free”. Gluten is still present, this treatment may change the way your body reacts to gluten.

Biohawk Allergen Digested Cakes and Slices

This week as well as our Gluten Digested Bread we went all out.

Pick-up was on the 16th of August 2017 (Brisbane Exhibition Public Holiday) another round of Smoked (Hickory) Brisket Pies, both Family size, and individual meal for ones.

In addition to the regular scone’s, and Apple Pies, we also made our Vanilla Slice (this sold out quickly ).

Carrot Cake (without the added walnut, also went quickly).

Iced Marble Cake Slice (chocolate, strawberry, vanilla).

You could also have enjoyed our 4 packs of Cream Buns (mock cream).

That’s right all the product listed above were Biohawk Gluten and Allergens treated.

Cold Drinks and Hot Foods

Along with the variety of Baked Foods we offer, we also offer a selection of Cold Drinks.

Choose from a selection of Coca Cola branded Soft drinks and Energy Drinks, Fruit Drinks (Golden Circle) and Juices (Just Juice).

We no longer offer a selection of Dairy Farmers Milk Drinks.

If we don’t have your preferred brand or flavour, perhaps the neighboring “Friendly Grocer” will.

Perhaps you want a Pie or Sausage Roll, but someone else wants a Burger, or Fish and Chips. That’s OK, “Uncle Bill’s Takeaway” is close by as well.

Dessert Slice

We offer a variety of Sweet Dessert Slices, although our full range is not always available for immediate pick up. If you are planning a function, an order in advance will ensure the choices you wish will be available.

  • Chocolate:

Brownie, Hedgehog.

  • Cake:

Carrot, Chocolate Mud, Date and Walnut, Fruit, and “Humming Bird”.

  • Coconut:

Pineapple/coconut, Rapsberry/Coconut,

  • Cheese Cake:     Fromage                                Baked    

Baked, Condensed Milk, or Fromage styles are the basic of variety we offer.

  • Custard :

We generally have 2 versions in our range. This being what we call “French Vanilla”, and the other is what we consider an “Australian Vanilla” (Snot Bloc) (sic).

  • Fruit:

Apple, or Sultana

Scones

Always a great aroma to have wafting around the home kitchen, freshly baked scones. Even better if someone else bakes them.

Quite a treat with a bit of a “ding” in the microwave (to warm them up, to melt the butter). A slather of Fresh Cream, and Jam. Its all “Yummo” from there.

We use the same style of recipe that would be considered a “Family Traditional”, just the basic ingredients and freshly bake.

Plain, Pumpkin (flavoured), Date, Sultana, Herb and Cheese, Bacon and Cheese are some of the variety’s we offer.

Bears Claw

Sometimes this Bun may be referred to as an Elephants foot.

Call it which ever, and there is a good chance we know what you are talking about.

This Bun is made to share with a group.

Its made using our Fruit Bun Dough that has a mixture of Spices and Sultana’s (Australian 3 crown) through the dough.

We put a filling of diced fresh Australian Apple in before we bake the Bun.

After baking , we coat it with our Sugar Glaze and finish it off with our Whipped Sugar Icing. Sometimes we will dust the icing with Coconut.

 

Chelsea Bun

Made with our Fruit Bun Dough that has a mixture of Spices and  Sultana’s (Australian 3 crown) through the dough.

The dough has a layer of Raspberry/Plum Jam applied before being rolled into a scroll.

After baking they are sprayed with Sugar Glaze and either finished off with Cinnamon Sugar or Whipped Sugar Icing.
