Like our other bread products, we use Australian Flour that has not been chemically bleached. With Gluten Digested Breads we employ a more traditional technique (similar to sourdough), which allows the dough to “develop” naturally without adding improver .  The Fruits and Grains have also been treated to address a whole scope of food allergen reactions.

Please note this treatment does not make the product “Gluten Free”. Gluten is still present, this treatment may change the way your body reacts to gluten.

To those who aren’t sure what we are talking about.

Biohawk have developed a product that we can add to our Breads and Pastries.

It is made from natural ingredients

Do you want to know more about this Biohawk product? Click on this link http://www.biohawk.com.au/

Alternatively you can call in to any Malouf Pharmacy, and your sure to find personnel who can assist you with your needs for the range of Biohawk Products.

If you wish to place an order to be included in the next batch, you can contact us via our email address ”  pie_s@ozemail.com.au   ” .

Sorry I have not set a link up, but a simple cut and paste should do the job and use the reference “Gluten Digested”.

When you order products baked with this treatment:- Please also remember we are in Ipswich, Queensland and would be “pick up” from our store.

Please note: This product is not considered “Gluten Free”, if you have been medically diagnosed with Coeliac / (Celiac) disorder this product may not be for you.

However you may find a FAQ sheet from another Bakery using Biohawk Products of interest. http://ishop.solbreads.com.au/t-easygest_faq.aspx

Not to be confused with a “Napolean” or Napoleon”.

With this Sponge Cake we use a combination of “Pink, Brown, and Cream” colour’s, or another way of describing it “Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla” flavour’s.

Placed into layers with our whipped Mock Cream between.

A layer of our whipped Sugar Icing on top and normally packaged as a “Bar Cake”.

Swiss Rolls

A treat for the family, (also sometimes referred to as a “Snake Cake”).

This Sponge Cake (“light Sponge”),  is baked as a thin layer. Rolled with a layer of our Mock Cream.

Our Flavour range:

Chocolate Sponge (with vanilla flavour mock Cream), Lemon, Mocha (Sponge and Cream flavoured), Vanilla (with a layer of Raspberry/Plum jam as well as the Cream).

Birthday Cake

Light Sponge Cake with a coating of our Mock Cream.

If you need a cake in a hurry, we usually have a 1/8 slab, ready to pack, available.

Our regular cakes are usually Vanilla, however Chocolate sponge can be ordered.

Talk to us about having one decorated to your own personal theme with your own personalised message handwritten across the top.

Our Regular standard size is a 18cm square. We describe this one as a “one eighth slab”, our next size bigger is “one quarter slab” (rectangle), “one half slab” (square), and “full slab”(rectangle).

Lamingtons

Always a favourite for young and old.

Also being in the City with the claim that this delight is part of Ipswich’s heritage.

Using our own sponge cake, we coat each individual piece in a rich chocolate sauce, then roll in desiccated coconut.

Our Lamingtons are snack size as well we have round Cakes.

Our round Cakes normally have a layer of Jam (Raspberry/Plum) and our own Mock Cream.

We use both Vanilla Sponge and Chocolate Sponge.

Keep an eye out for our “Raspberry Dip” lamington. This is a regular piece of vanilla sponge cake, dipped in raspberry, dipped in chocolate, and rolled in coconut the usual way.
