Gluten Digested Saturday Bake

We will be baking for pickup Saturday morning the 16th of December 2017, and orders close on Thursday the 14th at 4.30 PM.

We’ll be doing the range of  Breads, Bread Rolls, Fruit Buns, Cream (mock) Buns, .

The Fruit Buns are ordered as a pack of six, and Cream Buns as a pack of four.

Your choice of bread is not just limited to White Bread. Multi-Grain (pre softened grains), Wholemeal, Wholegrain, Fruit Loaf, and Sourdough may be ordered also.

As well as Loaves, Bread Rolls (Lunch, Hamburger, or Hotdog) may be ordered.

We are also doing  Sausage Rolls, Chunky Beef (plain),  Apple Pies, (sorry, no Apricot Pies this time around (the Apricots are out of supply)). We can do them in either the regular size or as a Family size Pie.

Also Apple Turnovers, Vanilla Slice, Carrot Cake and Madeira Cake.

All baked with a treatments of “Biohawks Bake-Aid and Relief”.

Batch sizes are limited.

Like our other bread products, we use Australian Flour that has not been chemically bleached. With Gluten Digested Breads we employ a more traditional technique (similar to sourdough), which allows the dough to “develop” naturally without adding improver .  The Fruits and Grains have also been treated to address a whole scope of food allergen reactions.

Please note this treatment does not make the product “Gluten Free”. Gluten is still present, this treatment may change the way your body reacts to gluten.

This week as well as our Gluten Digested Bread we went all out.

Pick-up was on the 16th of August 2017 (Brisbane Exhibition Public Holiday) another round of Smoked (Hickory) Brisket Pies, both Family size, and individual meal for ones.

In addition to the regular scone’s, and Apple Pies, we also made our Vanilla Slice (this sold out quickly ).

Carrot Cake (without the added walnut, also went quickly).

Iced Marble Cake Slice (chocolate, strawberry, vanilla).

You could also have enjoyed our 4 packs of Cream Buns (mock cream).

That’s right all the product listed above were Biohawk Gluten and Allergens treated.

Morning Tea

“Breakfast”, “Morning Tea”, “Smoko”, “Lunch”, “Afternoon Tea”, Dinner Party”, call it what you like. Whether its for one, a few Mates, or a bus load, most likely we will be able to help you out.

Our range includes Scones, Sandwiches, Buns (including Iced, or Creamed), Sausage Rolls, Pies, Savory Breads, Cakes, Desert Slices, Tarts, and other tasty treats.

 

Cold Drinks and Hot Foods

Along with the variety of Baked Foods we offer, it nearly goes without saying, that we also offer a selection of Cold Drinks.

As well as Soft drinks and Energy Drinks, we also have a selection of Dairy Farmers Milk Drinks, Fruit Drinks and Juices.

If we don’t have your preferred brand or flavour, perhaps the neighboring “Friendly Grocer” will.

Perhaps you want a Pie or Sausage Roll, but someone else wants a Burger, or Fish and Chips. That’s OK, “Uncle Bill’s Takeaway” is close by as well.

Neapolitan Cake

Not to be confused with a “Napolean” or Napoleon”.

With this Sponge Cake we use a combination of “Pink, Brown, and Cream” colour’s, or another way of describing it “Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla” flavour’s.

Placed into layers with our whipped Mock Cream between.

A layer of our whipped Sugar Icing on top and normally packaged as a “Bar Cake”.

Napolean Cake

This one always causes confusion. If you do some research you will find a whole host of definitions.

Apparently this cake may not of had French origins as you may perceive. I had a quick look around on the internet myself, and found that the one we call a “French Vanilla Slice” is sometimes referred to as a  “Russian Napolean” or a “Napoleon”.

Also not to be confused with a “Neapolitan” Cake (refer to our other post) .

So what do we call a “Napolean Cake”.

We sandwich a Light Vanilla Sponge Cake between a top and bottom layer of our Puff Pastry.

To hold this together we use a coating of Raspberry/Plum Jam, and a layer of our whipped Mock Cream.

On top we Ice the cake with our whipped Sugar Icing.

This is then packaged as a bar cake.

Swiss Rolls

A treat for the family, (also sometimes referred to as a “Snake Cake”).

This Sponge Cake (“light Sponge”),  is baked as a thin layer. Rolled with a layer of our Mock Cream.

Chocolate Sponge (with vanilla flavour mock Cream), Lemon, Mocha (Sponge and Cream flavoured), Vanilla (with a layer of Raspberry/Plum jam as well as the Cream).
