Vegemite Scroll

“It appears what was once a part of the “Aussie Staple Diet” may be starting to fade away.”

Well that was what we thought a couple of months back anyway. Its seems to be changing. We have had enough enquiries for us to give the old Cheesymite another go. Very timely as well considering around the same time it has been announced Bega Cheese is bringing the icon product back to Australian owned.

Our Vegemite Scroll is made using our Bread Dough, we would give it a coat of “Vegemite” and sprinkle “Aussie Jack” Cheese over it before rolling it into a scroll. Then another layer of melted cheese on top.

Its great that this little “Aussie Delight” may make a comeback. With your help, we can make 2017 the year of the “Cheesie Mite” or “Cheesy-Mite”.

Who knows with the help of this latest stouch.

How can “YOU” help. Just come in and ask if we have any “Cheesie Mites”.

Always a great aroma to have wafting around the home kitchen, freshly baked scones. Even better if someone else bakes them.

Quite a treat with a bit of a “ding” in the microwave (to warm them up, to melt the butter). A slather of Fresh Cream, and Jam. Its all “Yummo” from there.

We use the same style of recipe that would be considered a “Family Traditional”, just the basic ingredients and freshly bake.

Plain, Pumpkin (flavoured), Date, Sultana, Herb and Cheese, Bacon and Cheese are some of the variety’s we offer.

Whole Grain (Multi- Grain)

Just like our white Flour (unbleached) and Wholemeal Flour, the Grain we use for our Daily Fresh Baked Multi-Grain Bread and Bread Rolls comes from an Australian Family Owned Flour Mill.

The mixture of grains we currently use are:-Wheat, Triticale, linseed, Corn, Mung Beans, Rye, Soybeans, Chick Peas, Canola Oil (content may vary due to seasonal availability).

Although some of these grains are softened before we receive them, our process involves a further softening process.

Bread and Bread Rolls

So when you buy your loaf of “Fresh” Bread or Bread Rolls, do you ever ask yourself the question.

“Where was this loaf last night?”

Here’s some possible answers:

Was it already on the shelf in the store (for who knows how long).

In a Truck maybe coming from a warehouse or distribution centre.

Maybe thawing before being baked.

So then you start wonder “How Fresh is it really?”

Or “Well it must be fresh otherwise a preservative would need to be added to keep it “Fresh”, How do they do get it to last if they claim its preservative free”

If you care enough, you can find those answers online how this can be done without adding to the dough.

There is an alternative to ensure the Bread you get is freshly made.

By time most people in our Town are in bed, our Bread, Bread Rolls and Buns are still just flour in a bag.

This means the loaf of Bread, Bread Rolls, or Buns  you buy in the morning are less than 24 hours old.

So next time you buy a Bread Product ask yourself “How Fresh is this Bread, and how much longer will it still be palatable.

What Flour do we use?

The Flour we use is unbleached and made from Australian grain.

Our Flour comes from an Australian and Family owned flour mill.

These tasty treats are normally offered with toppings of

Australian Feta and Spinach,

Sundried Tomato, Capsicum, and Olives,

Ham, or

Ham and Pineapple.

All topped off with a generous coating of “Aussie Jack” Cheese.

Just to add more flavour our Bread Base is made using Sun dried Tomato infused Olive Oil.

We  bake Gluten Digested products every other Wednesday and the alternate Saturdays .

Orders close at least 2 days prior to the collection day.

As well as the Breads, Fruit Buns, Cream (mock) Buns, Apple Pies (Family and small) are being baked.

Vanilla Slice, also our range of scones.

The Fruit Buns and Scones are ordered as a pack of six, the cream are in four packs.

Not only are these products “Gluten Digested”, other “Food Intolerance’s” are addressed as well. All the product has been treated with accordance to, and with Biohawk’s cooperation and instruction.

Like our other bread products, we use Australian Flour that has not been chemically bleached. With Gluten Digested Breads we employ a more traditional technique (similar to sourdough), which allows the dough to “develop” naturally without adding improver .  The Fruits and Grains have also been treated to address a whole scope of food allergen reactions.

To those who aren’t sure what we are talking about.

Biohawk have developed a product that we can add to our Breads and Pastries.

It is made from natural ingredients
